In order to request services in Language Centre, client must contact Language Centre Assistant Registrar by email.

When service application is approved, the following workflow for the commencement of works and payment are divided to two categories,
1) Translation, Proof Reading, Editing & Certifying
2) Interpretation

Details of Work Flow
1. The client to email LC AR with relevant documents and provide the nature of service (type of service, duration, dates, specific information etc)
2. LC AR to provide quotation of the service.
3. The client confirm the quotation and service rendered.
4. LC will process the application of services to UBD, which normally take up to two weeks.
5. Once approved, LC will contact client.
Work Flow Part 2 for Translation, Proof Reading, Editing & Certifying
6. UBD Bursar’s Office will send invoice to client.
7. Client have to make payment to UBD Bursar’s Office
8. Once payment received, LC will inform service provider to commence work.
9. LC will send the documents to client.
10. Work done and thank you!
Work Flow Part 2 for Interpretation
6. Service provider will commence with the work. They will request for necessary documents (if applicable).
7. Client will inform LC about the completion of work.
8. UBD Bursar’s Office will send invoice to client.
9. Client will make payment to UBD Bursar’s Office.

Duration of Work Flow
1. All services require the following timeframe: 14 working days for proofreading/editing manuscripts of up to 12,000 words; 14 working days translating manuscripts of up to 6000 words (This timeframe includes necessary administrative procedures; actual editorial work on the manuscript will take 5-6 working days).

Definition of Services
- Translation: Translation from a language to another language.
- Proof Reading: Proofreading services involve correcting grammatical mistakes, spelling/typographical errors, sentence structure, punctuation, capitalisation and style.
- Editing: Editing services involve improving text clarity, often by rewriting sentences and paragraphs for flow.
- Certifying: Certification of translated documents
- Interpretation : Simultaneous Interpretation; Prepared Presentation.
Clients with pre-translated documents who wish to ensure that it is an accurate representation of the original will be charged the translating rate.
